Effects of Tree Species Diversity on Fine Root Morphological Characteristics, Productivity and Turnover Rates

چکیده
Fine roots (φ ≤ 2 mm) play an important role in the process of material and nutrient cycling forest ecosystems, but effect tree species diversity on functional characteristics fine is unclear. In this study, 1−7 subtropical communities with different richness were selected to study morphological characteristics, productivity (PRO), turnover rate (TUR) by continuous soil core extraction, ingrowth method, root analysis system. The effects PRO, TUR are also analyzed. results showed that increase community, including specific length (SRL) surface area (SSA) each community was not significant, PRO increased from 71.63 g·m−2·a−1 (Ligustrum lucidum pure forest) 232.95 (Cinnamomum camphora mixed seven communities), 0.539 times·a−1 0.747 times·a−1. Correlation redundancy richness, traits, physicochemical properties driving factors affecting characteristics. did change roots.

Fine Root Productivity and Turnover of Ectomycorrhizal and Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Tree Species in a Temperate Broad-Leaved Mixed Forest
Advancing our understanding of tree fine root dynamics is of high importance for tree physiology and forest biogeochemistry. In temperate broad-leaved forests, ectomycorrhizal (EM) and arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) tree species often are coexisting. It is not known whether EM and AM trees differ systematically in fine root dynamics and belowground resource foraging strategies. We measured fine ro...

15 صفحه اولBelowground fine root productivity, traits, and trees.
A long-standing debate in plant ecology is how plant diversity – including species richness, functional, and phylogenetic diversity – determines primary productivity aboveground and belowground (Tilman et al., 1997; Cadotte et al., 2009). A leading mechanism linking diversity and productivity posits that diverse assemblages of plants are more likely to complement each other in resource acquirin...
